In the 17th Century The Grand Tour was the traditional trip of Europe undertaken by mainly upper-class European young men of means, taking months or even years.   It was based on a standard itinerary and served as an educational rite of passage.   The tradition was extended to include more of the middle class after rail and steamship travel made the journey less of a burden.

Our GRAND TOUR is not for young men but for two single Aussie ladies and will be for three months, not years.   It is certainly not for the wealthy but for those on a budget.   Our itinerary is not standard, but of our own making and the education we receive will be invaluable.   Train is our mode of travel, made convenient with our Global Eurail Pass.    Content will ebb and flow as time permits.
