The title refers to the wonderful scenery we have enjoyed today, not to the quality of the photography as I could never do it justice. Erika and I travelled first to Grindelwald (highlighted in orange on the map).
Grindelwald’s development from a farmer’s village in the mountains to a tourist destination of international renown began in the 18th century. The town at the foot of a glacier, with its spectacular backdrop hasn’t lost any of its attractiveness over the years.
My lunch of Rõsti mit Cremespinat und Spiegeleise was a real treat.
To bring our day to a close we witnessed the most amazing sunset over the mountains and reflected in Lake Brienz.
(This is for the memory bank as too difficult to photograph from the train)
Something I will not forget.
