THAT RED THREAD AGAIN

Once again I set out to follow The Red Thread and all worked well for a while.
Many people follow the Thread on push bikes and due to the fact that all of the paths have a separate bike track, this works very well.

THE NEW TOWN HALL (Rathaus)
The New Town Hall was built at the beginning of the 20th century in the opulent style of the Wilhelmine Period.
Up to its golden tip, the dome measures a vast 97.73 metres. An inclined lift takes visitors to a viewing platform, but not during Winter and the view would not have been clear today, even if the lift had been in operation.

MASCHSEE
Maschsee Lake is an oasis in the middle of the city. There are many activities in the Summer months – rowing, pedal boats, bathing, skating and restaurants and beer gardens.

Hannover is a city where old and new sit side by side.

Soon after five o’clock, in the dark and a slight drizzle, we set out to find a restaurant and soon after 17:30 found a
Weinbar.

I had quite a conversation today with a lass serving in a Finnish market stall when I ordered for my lunch a small piece of Backfish served in a roll. She was aware that I spoke English so asked if I would taste one of their sauces and tell her the name of it in English. It was TARTARE and I told her that we serve it with seafood dishes. She was then very happy to explain some of their dishes to me while she was cooking the fish and, with the help of one of her colleagues, we were all teaching each other – a time to remember!
