MEETING WITH FRIENDS

TUESDAY 9TH MAY  Today Erika and Pat have left Airways Hotel Victoria 29 Saint George’s Square on a sightseeing excursion. We have found a plaque opposite Eccleston Square informing us that it was the home of Winston Churchill of whom we heard much when on our Walking Tour. Eccleston Square is a Private Garden only available to residents who hold a key.  The garden is beautiful, especially the lilacs in full bloom.

My day was made very special when I met with 2 sisters who had flown from Belfast. We had several hours reminiscing, laughing and sharing many happenings in our lives. It had been suggested to them that we spend our time at Dominique Ansel Bakery in Victoria, London, just 10 minutes’ walk from my accommodation. This bakery was opened in 2016 and is the London home of the Cronut, a unique creation of French-born Chef, Dominique Ansel.  Some describe the Cronut as a Croissant/Donut hybrid. There were many creative desserts, pastries and savoury food. The Staff were friendly and very attentive to our needs  enhancing the experience, a great atmosphere. It was a delightful day spent with true friends where time apart makes no difference and when we know that all is in the hand of God the Father.
